*5 How to Add a Form to a Landing Page (not available in email)

When creating landing pages, you now have the option to drag and drop in a form right there in the landing page editor. This is a significantly different than the previous landing page software (prior to June 2022).  By the way, you cannot add a form to an email... only to a landing page.

In this lesson, we will go through the steps to add a form, how to edit the form to add in form field questions, how to edit buttons and labels and also how to set up the thank you or redirect after your form is filled out.  We will also show you how to integrate a drip campaign flow to automate once someone fills out your form.

IMPORTANT:  The way you opt in phone numbers within a landing page has changed significantly.  You no longer opt them in within the landing page, but instead within a drip campaign you set up to run after the form is filled out.  Be sure to watch this very important lesson so you are able to text your leads who sign up and provide you a phone number within your landing page form.

To add a form to a landing page, go to your landing pages within the Automation tab and then either choose an existing landing page or create a new one.  Add in the row or drag and drop the form content block from the Content tab into an existing row.

To edit the form, click on the form within the row to pull up the Form editor.  At the top of the editor, you can change the width, alignment, font, and font size for all the text within the form at once.

Your initial form is preset to ask for the name and email.  To add more question fields, click Add a New Field.  You will get a drop down of preset fields, your custom fields and also additional fields.  Choose one.  If you choose Custom Fields, the responses to those questions will load right into your custom fields within your contact's information.

To edit any of the fields, click the blue EDIT button below the field you wish to edit.

You have several choices on what type of field information you wish to capture. Choose one that matches your field question best.

If you want the subscriber to know this is a required field, be sure you TYPE in the Asterisk (*) at the Label area, and then mark the field required.

IMPORTANT:  In order to opt-in the phone number for receiving texts, you must be sure that the drip campaign you add at the Actions tab of the specific landing page has the Opt In for Texting task added to the top of the campaign.  Watch the training tutorial in this lesson to see specifics about this.

If you use the words Mobile or Cell in the phone label, the phone number on the contact record will be marked as Cell in the Phone Field Label.

You have several choices to edit your labels.  Choose the colors, alignment, font size and width that work best for your landing page and background of your row.

You have several choices to edit your fields.  Choose colors, alignment, spacing, font size, etc.

You have several choices to edit your button.  Choose colors, alignment, borders, etc.  To change the wording on the button, you will do that at the Field Options area above.

Edit the entire form block with various options.   You can hide the form on either desktop or mobile. Hiding forms is not recommended on either.

When done, click save the Exit to previous page.  Be sure to set up your Actions tab to assign a drip campaign.  You can choose how to handle duplicate leads. You do not need to necessarily add in the rest of the information on this page if your drip flow campaign handles it all.  It's up to you.

When creating a brand new landing page, be sure choose a 'Thank You' Option. You must be sure to click the BLUE Apply Changes button in order for you option to work.   You can choose Your Own Thank you Page (first tab), a redirect to a third-party URL (to get them your lead magnet), or to an existing landing page.  We have provided you a nice, new, clean prebuilt Thank You Landing page in your library.  Be sure to add it and edit however you wish, although editing is not required.   All of the landing pages we have provided you already default to the new Thank You landing page we built for you.

In this example, we have chosen the new clean Thank You Page.

Here's what the new Thank You Landing page looks like, it will automatically pull your website from your Mail Merge Profile for you. This page can be edited, it's found in the EngageMore CRM landing page folder.

You can choose to have a double opt-in, if you wish and also track your analytics for your sign-ups here. We suggest you add a landing page widget to your home screen dashboard for quick glance tracking of landing page activity too.  Learn how to add a widget here: https://engagemorecrm.helpscoutdocs.com/article/115-customizing-your-dashboard
